Nigel Pole
ACII, DipPFS, Chartered Insurance Practitioner – Director & Independent Financial Adviser
Nigel joined the predecessor firm of HSP in 1996 after 10 years working for Grant Thornton where he set up their P.F.P department. He has been in the industry for almost 40 years. He has a wide range of clients and deals with all aspects of investment and financial planning.
Caroline Simpson
CTA, DipPFS – Director & Independent Financial Adviser
Caroline joined the predecessor Firm of HSP in 2000, following 18 years at KPMG where she managed a team of Tax Advisers in the Small Business Department. Many of her former KPMG clients and colleagues still work with her today. In January 2004 Caroline became a Director and shareholder of HSP. Caroline has a wide range of clients, dealing with all aspects of investment and tax planning.

Lauren Hoare
DipPFS – Independent Financial Adviser
Lauren provides advice on all areas of financial planning. Having over 10 years’ experience within financial services she has worked for HSP Financial Planning since 2005, building strong relationships with clients and providing advice to a range of individuals, businesses and trusts.
Russell Spiers
DipPFS – Independent Financial Adviser
Russell has worked in the financial services industry for over 30 years, having previously worked for a major life assurance company before joining HSP in 2012. He holds the Diploma in Financial Services and provides clients with financial advice across a wide range of products and services.
Ian Vernon
DipPFS, DipFA – Independent Financial Adviser
Ian has over 10 years’ experience in financial services. Having worked for national and international companies providing regulated advice to businesses and individuals. Ian assists a wide range of clients advising on all aspects of pension planning and wider wealth management creating bespoke and effective financial planning solutions.
Steve Sharp
DipPFS
Steve has previously worked for a range of major financial institutions having previously owned his own Financial Services Distribution Company. Steve has over 20 years’ experience including a vast knowledge in tax and trust planning, working with accountants and solicitors, providing solutions for High Net Worth clients.
Administration Team
Tracey Stanhope
Office and Accounts Manager
Tracey joined HSP in 2004, initially working for A J Brown & Partner - its former name - from 1988. Her role within the company are Office and Accounts Manager which entails the day to day running of accounting administration, compliance returns and overseeing staff and office matters.
Sue Hurd
Senior Office Administrator
With over 30 years’ experience in the financial services sector, Sue joined HSP in 2002, having worked for Mortgage brokers, Insurance Companies, and Financial Advisers. Sue manages the training of administration staff, along with all aspects of administration for Caroline Simpson (Director) and Ian Vernon (Financial Adviser).
Sam Pole
CertPFS – Paraplanner & Compliance Assistant
Sam joined HSP in 2014. Sam prides himself on a strong technical knowledge and understanding of investment, pension and protection planning. Taking a personalised approach to produce suitability reports that are clear and easy to understand. His ultimate aim is to achieve Chartered status.
Richard Parr
BA Hon. CertPFS – Administrator
Rich joined HSP in 2015 having previously worked for large SIPP provider in Leicester. Rich enjoys the variety and range of financial planning and has recently obtained the Certificate in Financial Services. Rich also manages all aspects of administration for Russell Spiers and Lauren Hoare (Independent Financial Advisers).
Sarah Johnson
Administrator
Sarah has worked for HSP for 25 years and manages the administration of group pensions and investment portfolios. Sarah’s experience and knowledge ensures clients receive the highest levels of service. Sarah also manages all aspects of administration for Nigel Pole (Director).
Sue Wells
Reception & Clerical Assistant
Sue has worked for the Company for over 20 years, having worked in similar roles previously.Sue's main duties are secretarial, carrying out a range of clerical duties, including audio typing. In addition, Sue provides a warm welcome to our clients.
Sandra Smith
Reception & Clerical Assistant
Sandra has worked for HSP for over 20 years, and brings secretarial, clerical and audio typing skills to the business. Additionally Sandra provides a warm welcome and hospitality to clients visiting us in Whetstone.
